Roger Bunn Piece of Mind New Music Release
The untimely death of the great Roger Bunn, scourge of apartheid and beater of many a Bass guitar, has prevented the proper promotion of his newest sonic release, Piece of Mind on Roller Coaster Records.
Way back, before Bunn joined the Roxy Music crew as their first bassist, Roger Bunn was making music with everyone and even did his own solo with the Dutch Royal Philharmonic.
The story behind the album is infuriating as it was buried in oblivion as a "foreign album" instead of a Brit-Pop explosion contribution. Roger's history is full of love, intrigue, being in the right place at the right time and doing the wrong thing for your future. Like the time Roxy music asked him to clean up his face, cut the moustache and hair for the group. He preferred to quit and let his freak flag fly then to curtail his freedom and liberty. How many times did Roger ask me late at night if that might have been an error in judgment?
Well, this turns out the same. The album was set about in the mid sixties as Roger's fame as a session man grew in the inner London crowd of new Brit Explosion bands. AR men at the record company knew Roger was a great musician and decided to team him with a philharmonic orchestra background. This thrilled Roger no end as he could compose and was a musician’s musician. Well, off to Holland to record with the Dutch Royal Philharmonic. Alas, as the album finishes it is released not as domestic rock but foreign release and is buried in obscurity.
Roger goes on to gig with Hendrix, Bowie and all the real names in the British rock scene as his release dies behind the music industries push in other directions.
Piece of Mind is an extraordinary piece of music. Historically the first of its kind in a trackless state. As one huge piece of music, the tracks move into each other without the mind taking notice. From hippie drum circle to smooth jazz chordal movements and Lydian scales the album breaks new ground for the next decade. Eventually the whole British music scene copies the style of Roger Bunn as his release languished in the foreign bin.

Keane First Live Broadcast Again at OnlineTV Global Networks
Secret Concert Videos from The Old Days Released to registered Fans Only
Word has it that after 6 years OnlineTV will announce shortly the broadcast of original concert footage of Keane from 1999.
Keane the hottest thing to come out of England in years has just come off several tours of the USA to take in some British Awards. The prestigious Ivor Novello Awards were presented by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters only months ago.
Keane seems to have started their International career spring boarding from the live OnlineTV global broadcasts. Taking their act from the Bull and Gate in the early days and moving to the other OnlineTV venue, 12Bar Club in Soho. No one knows if OnlineTV has any of that footage, but 12 Bar was one of their broadcast venues too. With everyone comparing Keane to Coldplay, who resided on the same Fierce Panda Records, I prefer to think of them with a cross of them and Radiohead in the early days.
From what we got to see on the servers today, Tom Chaplin is great. Young, raw, and still in the embryonic stages it was like watching the Beatles in their Cavern days. We saw a great 9 minute clip that had some brilliant moments and certainly hope that OnlineTV will release some more of their archives from Keane as well as other great bands.
